As more hairdressers and dreadlock lovers are preferring to begin their new dreadlocking businesses by offering the full range of dreadlock services I have now added a LIVE LEVEL 2 option to the CURRENT NATURAL LOCTICIAN CERTIFICATE COURSE LEVEL 1 (LIVE).

So from June 2018 each of the Natural Loctician Level 1 Courses that I run FACE TO FACE will involve 4 days of full study to gain an ADVANCED LOCTICIAN LEVEL. With Level 1 in the first 3 days and level 2 on the final day.

This course will include 3 days and 21 hours of study on Level 1 skills Monday to Wednesday 9-4pm (which includes natural dreadlock creation and maintenance with the Divine Hand & Hook Method, all dreadlock and hair theory and how to set up and run your dreadlocking service) with 7 hours of training 9-4pm to learn the vital Level 2 theoretical and practical skills involved in offering a seamless dread extensions and dread wraps service to clients. 

Level 1 costs are $2100 including the full Locticians Kit which contains a hairdressers mannequin & all the tools you'll need to get through the training as well as operate your business, so if you set up a studio from home, then there's no more costs involved. 

Level 2 costs $700 and includes 2 hair extensions to practice your hands on skills of dread extension creation.

TOTAL COST OF BOTH LEVELS IS USUALLY $2800 but when you ENROL IN THE ADVANCED LOCTICIAN CERTIFICATE COURSE and bundle both levels together you get $300 off and only pay $2500 if you enrol 6 weeks before the start date.

Finally dreadlocks, dreads or locs are becoming more popular and are rising up out of their previously stereotypical background as perceived to only belong to African's Rastafarians, hippies and surfers. Due to Dread Locticians who use the Divine Hand & Hook thorough crochet method of dreadlocking and other artisan dreadlock makers who work thoroughly with the crochet hook dreadlock method - there are more and more beautiful well made dreads out there, which means more and more people are wanting them.

Firstly, the most important factor in choosing which dreadlock training is best to complete to enable you to become a top dread loctician - is select the right dreadlocking method. There's twist and rip, palm roll and wax, backcomb, palm roll and wax, twist palm roll and wax, backcomb, latch hook and wax, backcomb perm solution and pal roll with wax, a loopy braid style with a bit of hooking, backcomb and needling and wax OR there's the crochet hook method.  Then within the world of the crochet hook method, there's dread locticians who do a 10% lock, a 20% lock, a 30% lock etc etc all the way up to an 80% lock - but the only method that teaches a 90% lock (100% crochet locked is akin to a steel tent pole and actually overlocked) is the Divine Hand & Hook crochet method of dreadlocking. 

Other than all other methods, the Divine Hand and Hook Method (DH&H) is the ONLY method that requires very little maintenance. Crochet dreadlocking under 80% is still great, much better than any dreadlock method that doesn't use any crochet hook locking, but if the loctician has done less than an 80% lock on your hair it means there are sections of unlocked hair that may bulge or loop out after a few swims or washes & need maintenance within the ideal 3 month time frame. 

So essentially the DH&H method taught by Em from Divine Dreadlocks creates neat, tight, NO shrinkage, NO product, NO string, NO wax, NO chemical,  low maintenance dreads, which are definitely the MOST POPULAR dreadlocks  when people are choosing to invest in them by seeing a Dread Loctician. So check that your dread loctician trainer has some teaching experience or credentials. If they don't then you should read all the reviews on their training or ask around in dreadlock groups what people think of their training.
